2 or 3 lbs beef stew meat
5 to 8 carrots, cut in half and sliced lengthwise
1 onion, chopped
6 or 7 potatoes, quartered
2 cans mushroom soup
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup burgundy wine
1 bay leaf
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Mix above in large pot or casserole for baking. Add 1 bay leaf on top and cover. (Don't panic when you mix it as it looks awful - curdled and purple from the wine and soup). Bake at 325º for 5 hours. Remove the bay leaf and serve.
