1 cup butter
3 cups of raisins
11/2 cups of currants or 1 cup currants and 1/2 cup of dates
13/4 cups brown sugar
3 eggs
3/4 lb. cherries
1/2 lb. almonds
1/4 lb.coconut
1/4 lb.mixed peel
2 slices candied pineapple
1/2 cup wine
2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp.vanilla
1/4 tsp.almond extract

Cream butter and sugar,add eggs,beat well. Add wine,vanilla,almond extract. Sift dry ingredients. Add flour fruit and liquids,mix well. Let stand in cool dry place for 24hrs. Have a pan of water in oven and bake 3 hrs at 250. Line baking pans with 2 layers of brown paper greased well. Makes 2 small and 1 med. cake
