1 cup shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. cold water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
chocolate chips, as wanted

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugars. Add eggs, water, vanilla, salt, flour, soda, and chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees.

This recipe comes from my sister-in-law, Naomi Reisetter and was found in Grandma Percy Reisetter's recipe file. I'm sure Naomi used this recipe often when their five children were growing up.
