1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. cocoa
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. chocolate chips or 1 c. nuts

Directions:

Mix shortening, sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Beat till light and fluffy. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Bake at 350º for 7-8 minutes on ungreased cookie sheets.
