1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup cooking oil
2 cups sugar
5 eggs, separated
1 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup nuts, chopped

ICING:
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 box powdered sugar
1/2 cup nuts, chopped fine

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Grease and flour three 8 or 9-inch pans or a 13 x 9 inch pan.

Cream butter, oil and sugar. Add egg yolks one at a time, beating after each addition. Stir baking soda into buttermilk. Add sifted flour into batter, alternating with buttermilk mixture. Add vanilla, coconut, and chopped nuts. Beat egg whites and fold into mixture. Pour into prepared pan(s). Bake 40-45 minutes for 9 x 13 inch pan, 30-35 minutes for 9 inch pans. Cool and ice.

ICING:
Beat cream cheese and butter. Add vanilla, sugar and nuts. Beat until of spreading consistency.
