1/2 cup water
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup melted chocolate chips
1tsp. baking soda
2/3 cup solid Crisco
1 3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups flour
1/3 tsp salt
3/4 cup sour milk (1Tbsp.vinegar in 3/4 cup milk, let stand a few minutes, will curdle)

Directions:

Grease and flour tube (bundt)pan.
Set oven to 350 degrees

Mix in separate bowl: Water, chocolate chips
(melted),cocoa,and baking soda; Let stand and add last.

Cream together Crisco, sugar and eggs,gradually add flour salt and sour milk. When mixed well together add chocolate mixture from above.

Put in greased bundt pan and bake for 45minutes. Check with cake tester or toothpick to come back clean. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pan

Great Nana would make this cake for us and we would love it. It comes out more like a pound cake with a bitter chocolate taste more than milk chocolate. Frost it with a buttercream frosting.
