1 box of butter recipe cake mix

Bananas

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
6 egg whites, room temperature

Bake cake in three layers according to directions on the box. Cool the cake. Place one layer on a cake plate then layer with sliced bananas. Ice the first layer with the icing recipe below. Repeat the layer again two additional times. Serve warm!

Frosting:
Mix sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a small boil. Continue to cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. About 1 minute before the sugar and water mixture is done start beating the room temperature egg whites with an electric mixer. They should start forming peaks. While continuing to beat eggs slowly pour the hot sugar mixture in and mix well. Immediately start icing the cake.
