2 c. milk - scalded
6 Tbsp flour
3 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp salt
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
2 bananas (if making banana cream pie)
1 c. coconut (if making coconut cream pie)

Meringue
6 Tbsp. sugar
egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Separate eggs. Add egg yolks to milk, stir in flour and sugar (mixed together). Stir until thick. Add salt, butter and vanilla. When mixed, add bananas or coconut.

Meringue:
Mix egg whites until firm. Mix in sugar, 1 spoon at a time. When mixed, spoon on to pie. Place in oven until meringue is brown.
