6 lb chuck roast
2 med onions sliced
2 bay leaves
6 whole cloves
12 peppercorns
2 t salt
1 pt wine vinegar
1 c water
2 T shortening
10 small crushed ginger snap cookies
1/2 lb bow tie noodles
1/2 c snipped parsley

Directions:
Directions:
2 days ahead, place roast in large bowl with onions, bay leaves, cloves, peppercorns, salt vinegar and water. Cover, refrigerate 24 hours and turn occasionally. Drain, reserving marinade. Brown roast on all sides in oil in a dutch oven. Add marinade and simmer covered for about 3 hours or until tender. Once again refrigerate in dutch oven turning occasionally. 30 minutes before dinner, remove fat from top of marinade. Remove roast from pot and slice. Strain marinade and return it to dutch oven, add crushed ginger snaps & cook until dissolved then add meat to gravy and heat about 10 minutes. Serve over noodles.
