Ingredients:
1 1/2 sticks and 3 T. butter
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
3 eggs
3/4 cup cocoa
3/4 cup flour
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts, optional
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Cream 1 1/2 sticks and 3 T. butter with 1 1/4 cups sugar until all is creamy. Then comes 3 eggs added one at a time, beating as each egg is added. To this gradually will go 3/4 cup cocoa, 3/4 cup flour and 1 cup nuts. All will be mixed together thoroughly and 1 tsp. vanilla will be added. It will be baked in a 9" x 13" greased pan in a 325º oven for about 25 minutes. When the mixture starts to draw away from the sides of the pan, it's done. I don't overbake ever. A toothpick inserted in the center of the pan should come out clean.

Personal Notes:
The "Dorothy" in this recipe was not Mom. It was a person that wrote a newspaper column that Mom enjoyed reading.
