4 c. chopped fresh broccoli
1 med. purple onion, chopped
2 T. capers, drained, or chopped green olives
1/4 c. chopped pecans or pine nuts, toasted (optional)
1/4 c. chopped fresh dill
1/3 c. balsamic vinegar
1/4 c. olive oil
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 T. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper

Toss together first 5 ingredients. Cover and chill 30 minutes. Whisk together dressing ingredients; pour over salad; sprinkle with pecans.
