1 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. sugar
3 oz. soft cream cheese
2 eggs
2 tsp. orange juice
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
6 oz. chocolate chips

FROSTING:
2 c. confectioners sugar
3 oz. soft cream cheese
1 T. orange juice
1 tsp. grated orange rind

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.

Using electric mixer, blend together shortening, sugar, cream cheese, eggs and orange juice. Then add flour and salt. Once all ingredients are mixed, stir in chocolate chips by hand. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheets covered with parchment paper. Bake at 350º for 12 min. or until light brown on the edges. Cool cookies completely and frost.

To Make Frosting:
Mix all ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy. Add more orange juice to thin, if necessary.
