2 (21 oz.) cans cherry pie filling
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/4 c. sugar

1 (18.25 oz.) box chocolate fudge cake mix
1 c. finely chopped pecans

3/4 c. butter, cut into teaspoon-sized pats

fresh whipped cream (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Spread cherry pie filling over bottom of baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with chocolate morsels and sugar.

Spread dry cake mix over sugar, covering pie filling. Sprinkle evenly with chopped pecans. Place butter pats over cake mix, covering cake mix as evenly as possible.

Bake 1 hour. Cool 30 minutes before serving.
