1 stick butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups grated carrots
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Orange Frosting:
1 TLB soft butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1/3 cup orange juice
1 TLB Orange Rind

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add egg and vanilla, blending well. To flour, add baking powder and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Add carrots and nuts. Drop by teaspoons onto baking sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 - 9 minutes. Cool...then top with Orange Frosting
