1 bottle vodka - cheap vodka is best
1 vanilla bean - large or 2 small beans

1. Carefully split bean lengtwise, cardful not to spill the seeds. Uncap bottle of vodka - slide bean (seeds and all ) into bottle and recap.

2. Shake bottle for timne to time and in about 3 to 4 months you will have extract. Keep in dark area. Pour into small extract bottle for easy use.

3. Just add more vodka for beans as needed to keeep a supply on hank. --You may use vefore three months but flavor is best after 3 to 4 months.

+++Vanilla beans can be purchased at large supermarkets or health food stores. They should be bendable and soft, not brittle. A large bean 6-7 inches, small bean 4-5 inches.+++
