1 C shortening
2 C brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp soda, dissolved in ¼ C boiling water
1 tsp vanilla
2 ¼ C flour
2 C oatmeal
½ tsp salt

Directions:
Mix ingredients together. Makes about 5 dozen drop cookies. Bake at 400º, for 15 minutes.
