1 stick margarine
1 c. milk

apples (cooked w/sugar and cinnamon, cooled)

Directions:

Cut butter into flour with pastry blender. Then add milk. Mix until dough becomes stiff then fold dough over and over and flatten.

Roll out a portion of the dough into a small round circle. Add cooked, cooled apples on half of circle. Fold other half of dough over apples and seal edges. Melt a tablespoon of Crisco into an electric skillet heated to 325º to 350º. Fry the pie. Add Crisco prior to frying each pie.

This recipe comes from my Aunt Ann. She always makes these pies when we are together because she knows that I love them (as does everyone else).

Ann is a wonderful cook and implements the same methods as my Mamaw Hampton. Sitting in Ann's kitchen transports me back to my Mamaw's house.
