2 Tbs. lard (or shortening),
3/4 c. sugar,
2 eggs,
3/4 c. milk,
2 3/4 c. flour,
3 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream lard and sugar, add eggs and mix well. Add milk alternately with dry ingredients. Heat shortening or lard over high heat in deep fat fryer or deep saucepan. Test by dropping a tsp of dough in fat. It should float quickly. While oil is heating roll out dough tickly (around 1/3 to 1/2 inch thick). Cut with doughnut cutter. Cook holes first and follow with the larger doughnuts. Turn after a few minutes so both sides brown evenly. After doughnuts are removed from oil, drain and dredge in powdered sugar placed in a brown paper bag. Serve hot.
