1 cup sifted all purpose flour
1/2 t. baking powder
1/8 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1/3 cup butter
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 slightly beaten egg
1 t. vanilla
1 six-ounce bag chocolate chips

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients together. Add walnuts and set aside. Melt butter in a small saucepan and add brown sugar to melt. Cool. Stir in egg and vanilla. Add the flour mixture gradually. Spread into a 9x9" pan (grease bottom of pan only) and sprinkle the top with the chocolate chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and cut into squares.
