1 cup sour cream
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
2 tsp cream of tarter
2 tsp baking soda
3 tsp nutmeg
2 TB vanilla
1 tsp salt
5 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter, sour cream, eggs, and sugar together.
Add remaining ingredients. Chill for at least 3 hours. Make rolled-out cookies using various shapes of cookie cutters.

This is the famous soft cookie recipe that has been in our family for over 100 years. The nutmeg adds a wonderful flavor to this cookie. We frost the cookies with a butter cream frosting. Yum!
