4 Cups Sugar
2 2/3 Lard (shortening)
2 Cups Buttermilk
6 eggs
4 Cups Flour
6 tsp Baking Powder
pinch salt
Vanilla
**note: if use milk, use 9 tsp Baking Powder- - if use Buttermilk or sour milk, use 3 tsp soda

Cream together sugar, lard eggs and buttermilk. Sift together flour and baking powder, and salt. Cream together. Add Vanilla. Roll out and cut in circles. Bake 350 degrees - 10 minutes. Put on favorite kind of icing
