2 C elbow macaroni
1 small onion, minced
1 T flour
3/4 t salt
1/4 t dry mustard
1/8 t white pepper
2 C milk
1/2 lb cheddar cheese, shredded
3/4 C fresh bread crumbs

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400*.
Cook macaroni. Cook onion in 2 tablespoon butter in small sauce pan until tender. Stir in flour, salt, mustard, and pepper. Cook 1 minute.
Slowly stir in milk; cook, stirring until smooth. Add about 3/4 of the cheese; stir until melted. Drain macaroni. Turn into greased 11/2 quart casserole dish. Pour cheese sauce over and toss to coat. Top with remaining cheese. Toss bread crumbs in 1 tablespoons melted butter; sprinkle over cheese.
Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
