2 Cups Shortening
3 Cups Sugar
2 Eggs
6 1/2 Cups Flour
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1 Cup Thick applesauce
1-2 cups finely chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
~~ Cream Shortening and sugar. Add egg and mix well. Add the applesauce to the egg mixture. Sift dry ingredients and add to the applesauce mixture. Form into roll, wrap in wax paper and store in fridge. When ready to bake, slice and put on un-greased cookie sheet. Bake 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
