Pick over and wash one pint of navy beans, soak overnight in water with 1/2 tsp. soda.
Sink one quarter lb. salt pork into them, rind uppermost, add one Tbs. salt, 1 tsp. pepper, 1 onion (whole) two Tbs molasses and 1/2 tsp mustard. Bake all day.Add water as necessary. Last half hour uncover and let brown.
