1 cup softened butter
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
dash salt
dash baking powder
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans or walnuts
powered sugar for dusting

Directions:
Directions:
1) in a bowl, beat together the butter and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy, add vanilla
2) blend together flour, salt, baking powder
3) add flour mixture to butter mixture and mix well
4) add the chopped nuts, mix well
5) roll the dough out in two balls, wrap in plastic and put into refrigerator for at least 1 hour to cool
6) after dough is cold, scoop out tsp size balls, and put the dough ball on cookie sheet
7) bake at 375º to 400º to 10 to 12 minutes until firm not brown
8) while still warm, roll into powered sugar dusting fully
9) let cool, roll again in powered sugar
store in tin with wax paper on bottom and if you stack put wax paper between layers
