2 Tbsp Veg Oil
4 cloves (whole)
3 black cardamom seeds
6 black peppercorns
2 cinnamon sticks
2 tsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp water
1 C. thawed peas
2 C. uncooked basamati rice
4 C water
salt to taste

Directions:

1. Heat oil in deep heavy skillet over low heat. Add cloves, cardamom, peppercorns and cinnamon. Cook for few minutes to bring out aroma. Stir in garlic and 2 Tbsp water together to make paste; mix into pan with spices. 2. Add peas to pan. cover and cook about 5 mins. 3. Add remaining water and rice. Season with salt. Bring to boil, cover and cook about 15 mins, until rice is tender and water is absorbed. Taste and add more salt if needed.
