1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Pour boiling water over oats and let stand until cool. Cream shortening with sugars and eggs. Add oats and water mixture. Add all other dry ingredients and mix until creamy.
Pour into a greased and floured 13X9X2 inch baking pan.
Bake at 350 for 35-45 minutes.

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp vanilla
Melt butter and add sugar. Blend. Add remaining ingredients and spread on baked hot cake.
