Ingredients:
Ingredients:
9 large tomatillos, husked
3 large ripe tomatoes, chopped, or cherry tomatoes, cut in pieces
2 ripe avocados, peeled and chopped into small chunks
juice of one lime
salt to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Remove husks from tomatillos and roast on a cookie sheet in 400º oven until soft. Remove and cool, and save any juice that exudes.
When tomatillos aren't hot anymore (they can be warm to cool), either put tomatillos and juice in blender or food processor if you want a very smooth sauce, or mash with potato masher for a chunkier sauce.
Add in chopped tomatoes, chopped avocados, lime juice, and salt.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
The resulting red and green is festive for Christmas, but you can serve this any time you find tomatillos in season. If you want a spicier salsa, add some chopped fresh serrano pepper or other hot pepper.
