Microwave Chocolate Pie Recipe

Store bought pie crust

Filling:
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1/4 c. Hershey's Cocoa
1/4 c. corn starch
4 egg yolks
2 c. milk
1 t. vanilla
2 T. butter

Meringue:
4 egg whites
1/3 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Bake pie crust as directed on the package for cream pies.

Sift sugar, salt, cocoa and corn starch together and set aside.
Beat egg yolks with a fork, add milk and vanilla. Add to the above mixture. Add butter. Place in a microwaveable bowl and cook for 3 minutes.
Take out of microwave and stir. Cook an additional 3 minutes then take out of microwave and stir.
Cook 3 more minutes then take out and beat with a whisk for 1 minute. Let cool for several minutes and pour in COOKED and COOLED pie crust.

Meringue:
Place the egg whites in a large bowl and mix with a mixer on high until they are stiff.
Add sugar and beat another minute.
Put on top of chocolate pie.
Bake at 350º for about 15 minutes or until brown.
