2/3 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 cup peeled apples, diced
1/2 cup nuts (walnuts or pecans)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350º

In a large mixing bowl mix ingredients in order given. Spread in greased 9x13x2 inch pan.

Bake 25-30 min. Test with toothpick
