31/2 lb. first cut brisket
1/4 c water
1 t salt
1/2 t pepper
1 1/2 jars Heinz Chili Sauce
1/3 c brown sugar
1 large onion-chopped
1 16 ou./1 lb. bag of baby carrots

Directions:
Pre heat oven 325º
In bottom of 9x13 pan put water and 1/4 jar of chili sauce, then some onions
Season brisket on both sides with salt&pepper
Put brisket in pan fat side up
Put remaining onions and carrots on top Sprinkle brown sugar on top of that
Put remaining chili sauce on top of that
Cover with tinfoil
Bake for 2 1/2hrs or until tender
Sometimes takes longer
Take out of oven and cool out of pan
Slice and return to pan being sure to get sauce between slices
Pour 1/2 can beer on top and return to oven uncovered for 1/2 hr or until very tender Refrigerate overnite or freeze, which is the best!

Don't worry if it takes longer to get tender. This happens sometimes. Just keep cooking covered .
