½ cup shortening
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
¾ cup sugar, divided
1 egg
2 Tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ¾ cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
6 dozen chocolate star candies/Hershey’s kisses

Directions:
Directions:
In large mixing bowl, beat shortening, peanut butter, brown sugar, and ½ cup sugar until light and fluffy
Add egg, milk, and vanilla – mix well
Combine flour, baking soda and salt
Add to creamed mixture
Using a rounded teaspoon, shape into 1-inch balls
Roll in remaining ¼ cup sugar
Bake at 375 for 8 minutes
Place candies in center and press down until cookies start to crack
Put back into oven and bake another 2-3 minutes
