Ingredients:
1 1/3 C raspberries or blackberries
1/2 C red currants
2-4 tbsp sugar
8 ripe plums
8 ripe apricots
2 C seedless grapes
1 C strawberries
(Serves 8)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the berries and currants with 2 tbsp sugar.
Stone the plums and apricots, cut them into pieces and put half of them into a pan with all of the berries.

Cook over very low heat with about 3 tbsp water until the fruit is just beginning to soften and the juices are starting to run.

Leave to cool slightly and then add the reserved plums and apricots, and the grapes. Taste for sweetness and add more sugar if the fruit is too tart. Leave the fruit salad to cool, then cover and chill.

Just before serving, transfer the fruit to a serving bowl. Hull and slice the strawberries and arrange them over the fruit in the bowl.
