2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
2 T. sugar
2 eggs separated
1 tsp. salt
1 ¾ cups milk
4 T. melted shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together dry ingredient. Separate eggs. Beat egg yolks into milk, then mix into dry ingredients. Beat egg whites until stiff, and then gently fold whites into batter. Add shortening and fold in until blended. Hint: For shortening we use vegetable oil or you can melt margarine if you prefer
