Directions:We pay tribute to Mariann Bundy Littman who published "Cousins by the Dozen", our family data. She was extremely interested in family genealogy. I remember meeting her in Frankfort, KY to search the state archives for information about our family. We spent the day researching microfilm and recording data for "Cousins by the Dozen." She showed great enthusiasm and respect as she searched and verified any information she planned to record. She worked with all family members collecting data.
After the first edition she updated and expanded the book annually. She wanted her children to know their heritage and she shared with all of the family. This book is used continuously. I usually have it near when I call anyone in the family and I take a copy with me when I travel. Invariably someone will want to know how old someone is or what date something happened. The addresses and phone numbers are indispensable. It is a wonderful ready reference.
I remember Mariann stopping in London on her way home to North Carolina one afternoon. She was so busy talking to Mom and Dad and visiting the cousins, the farm and the animals that she didn't leave until late in the night. She said she and her children were making memories. Otis and Elizabeth were concerned about her being on the road so late. I cherish those memories as well as the time I spent with their family my freshman year in college.
Since her death January 17, 1999, her brother, Alan, has continued to update the family book. It is not an easy task (as Reneé can attest). We pay tribute to Mariann Bundy Littman for her love of family. We say "Thank You" to Alan Bundy for continuing her project. This book has kept us close to home. |
