Ingredients: 1 cup of rice 2-3 tbsp of canola oil 2-chicken bullion's-(optional) 2 cups of water 2-3 tbsp of Tomato Sofrito-(can be purchased at the store in the Mexican section) or 1/4 cup of salsa. Pot with a tight lid

Directions:Heat pan with oil under medium to high heat. Add rice and stir so rice is coated with oil(add more oil if needed). Watch for rice to start turn real white then brown (don't burn rice) stirring frequently. When rice has browned, add salsa or sofrito. Stir. Once ingredients is well coated, add water and bullion's. Bring to a rolling boil.(Be careful of hot steam when adding water). Turn burner on low and and put the lid on. Time for 15 minutes then turn burner off and let rice sit for 10 minutes before taking the lid off. Fluff with a fork. |
