1 1/2 pounds fresh snapper, perch fillet
1 cup tiny shrimp
1 doz. streamer clams (optional)
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic minced
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1- 8 oz. can tomato sauce
1- 28 oz can tomatoes, undrained
1/2 cup water or dry white wine
1 teas. each of sweet basil, thyme, marjoram, oregano
1 bay leaf
4 whole cloves
1 Tablespoon parsley flakes
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1 teaspoon salt

1- Cut fish into 1/2 inch chunks and set aside.
2- Saute onion and garlic in oil until onion is tender but not brown. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, water or wine all spices except parsley. Let simmer for 20 to 30 minutes until mixture thickens, stirring occasionally.
3- Add fish, scrubbed steamer clams in shell and cook until clams open. Add shrimp a few minutes before serving. To serve, top each individual bowl with a little parsley flakes and lemon slices.
