1/2 cup butter or shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cups all - purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. clove
1 tsp. soda
1 cup prunes
1 cup prune juice

Directions:
Directions:
Cook prunes in water until tender, make sure you have at least 1 cup of juice left. Cut prunes up in chunks. Cream shortening or butter, sugar, and eggs together. Add dry ingredients and prune juice - beat well. Stir in prunes. Pour into 2 round greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 400º until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool and remove from pans. Ice with following recipe:
