1c. crisco,
3c. sugar,
4 eggs,
2t. vanilla,
1t. salt,
2oz. red food coloring,
2c. buttermilk,
4c. flour,
6T cocoa in 2oz. of water,
2T. vinegar,
2t. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Cream crisco and sugar, add eggs, vanilla, salt, and buttermilk mix until blended. Add food coloring and mix by hand to avoid splattering- mix well. Add sifted flour and cocoa mixture and mix until fully blended. Add vinegar and baking soda and stir by hand until mixed well.
Bake at 350 º in 11x14 greased pan, 40-45 minutes or until center is cooked through.
