Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 large green peppers
3-4 cups cooked rice
1-1 1/2 lb. hamburger
1 medium onion
2 - 15 ounce cans of tomato sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 t. chili powder
two slices of bacon
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Directions:
Directions:
Remove top and seeds from peppers. Slightly cook the peppers. You can use various methods - such as a boiling kettle of water, in a electric steamer, in a steamer in the microwave. I have had the best luck in the microwave. Some people like their peppers to be crunchy, some like them thoroughly cooked. I like them some place in between. You will just have to experiment. Brown hamburger and onion; add rice and about one can of the tomato sauce - maybe a little more. Add salt and pepper. Sometimes I add a little chili powder. Stuff the peppers and put into a dish where they will all stand up. They can extend above the dish. Put one third of a bacon slice on the top of each pepper and add a little cheese. Pour some of the tomato sauce over the top of peppers. Make sure you have at least an inch of sauce in the bottom of dish even if you have to add a little water. Bake at 350º for 1/2 hour.
