"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/3 whole wheat pastry flour
1 c. Rice Milk (I suggest Rice Dream Brand)
1 tbsp Braggs sauce ( or soy sauce)
1 c. water
1/2 tsp. sea salt
2 tbsp. oleic safflower or canola oil
1 tsp. dried, crushed sage
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. marjoram
pinch of black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
In a saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add flour, and stir often for two mins. Remove from heat and allow to cool for several mins. In a separate bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Whisk together with the flour/oil, half at a time to avoid lumping. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. Reduce heat to low and cook for 10-15 mins, stirring occasionally. If gravy seems to thick, add more water, 1 tbsp. at a time, until desired consistency is reached. Adjust salt and pepper to taste. Gravy will thicken as it cools. Stores well in the refridgerator for several days.

Personal Notes:
Sometimes, I add sautéed shiitake mushrooms and onions, and substitute the regular water with the soaking water of the shiitake mushrooms.
