2-1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 sticks butter, softened
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar (packed)
2 large eggs, beaten
1 T. vanilla
1/2 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
1-3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
3.5 oz. dark chocolate bar, chopped
1/2 c. English walnuts, chopped (optional)

Preheat oven to 375º. In small bowl stir together flour, salt and baking soda. In large bowl stir together butter, both sugars, eggs, vanilla and cocoa. Gradually stir flour mixture into butter mixture and mix until combined. Stir chocolate chips and walnuts into mixture to distribute evenly.

Drop dough by heaping tablespoon onto greased baking sheets (or use parchment paper on baking sheets instead of greasing) and bake about 10 minutes. Cool on a baking rack.
