1 1/2 c flour
1 T baking powder
salt
1/2 c butter
1 c sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 c milk
3 egg whites - stiffly beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg whites until stiff. Then cream butter and add sugar, vanilla, egg yolks and beat, add equal portions of dry ingredients and milk. Fold stiff egg whites into mixture.

I use 2 8" round pans - could use square Bake 25-30 mins at 350
I often use this recipe as a birthday cake and fill with Pecan Filling and frost with whip cream
