2 cups sugar,
1/2 lb. butter ( soft),
4 eggs - separated,
2 1/2 cups of cake flour,
4 Tbsp. Bakers cocoa,
1/2 tsp. baking soda,
1 cup sour milk,
1 tsp. vanilla,
(2 Tbsp. vinegar in 1 cup of milk is sour milk).
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter. Add sugar and beat well. Add 4 egg yolks and beat well. Add flour which has been sifted with cocoa and salt alternately with sour milk which soda has been added and the vanilla. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake 350º oven.
2 - 9" layers 25 min or until done.
9x12 or 12" pan 40 to 45 min.
Test with toothpick.
