6-8 thinly sliced onions, separated
1 stick (1/2 C.) butter
1 tsp. salt
4 Cans (10 oz. each) beef consume
4 large slices French Bread, each 1" thick
4, 1/3 " slices gouda cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Lightly brown onions in butter, about 15 minutes. Season with salt. Drain. Add consume and simmer another 20 minutes *until onions are tender. Toast 1" slices of French bread on both sides. Place bread in bottom on individual oven proof bowls. Pour onions and broth equally over 4 breads in bowls. Top each with full cheese slice. Place bowls on jelly roll pan and bake in hot over - 400 degrees. for about 15-20 minutes. Or broil 4-5 minutes until cheese melts, is bubbly, but not burnt. Almost like any you've eaten in a restaurant!
