1 can kraut, drained
2 slices bacon
1 small onion, chopped
1 small potato, grated
1 tsp. caraway seeds, optional
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. boiling water
1 small apple, grated, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Fry bacon until crisp. Let cool and crumble. Set aside. Add onion and fry until translucent. Add kraut and cook for 5 minutes. Add grated potato and caraway seeds. Cover with boiling water; add brown sugar. Cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes. Uncover and cook an additional 10 to 15 minutes. A grated apple may be added at this time. About 5 minutes before kraut is done, add the crumbled bacon.
