Baklava Recipe

1 lb Filo
1 1/2 lbs Butter
Nut Mixture:
8 cups of Walnuts (finely crushed)
1 1/2 cups Sugar
4 tsp Cinnamon
Syrup:
14oz jar of Orange Honey
1 c Sugar
1 tsp Lemon Juice
1 c Water
Whole Cloves

Directions:
Directions:
Baste bottom of pan with melted butter
Place 6 sheets of filo in pan basting with butter in between each sheet
(to keep filo from drying out while using - keep in between 2 slightly damp dish towels)
Prepare Nut Mixture in a mixing bowl
Sprinkle layer of nut mixture over filo.
Add 2 sheets of filo (buttered)
Repeat 6 times
Top layer of filo should have appx 5 sheets
Top generously with Butter.
Score diagonally and add whole cloves to each piece.
Preheat oven to 300º
Bake 1 Hour
Cool 1 Hour
Prepare syrup
Combine ingredients in a large saucepan and bring
to a roaring boil for appx 10 minutes. Stir continuously to not burn bottom of pot.
Carefully pour hot syrup over baklava (not quite all of it)
Let cool and then remove scored pieces of baklava to serving plate or place in paper dessert cups
