Antonio's Limoncello Recipe

5 organic lemons
2 cups grain alcohol or vodka
2 cups sugar
2 cups water

Directions:
Directions:
Wash lemons and pat dry. With a vegetable peeler,zest the lemons into long wide strips, making sure to avoid the white pith.
Fill a jar with alcohol or vodka, add the zest and mix. Seal the jar tightly and store for 6 days. The liquid will become yellow.
Combine the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
Let the syrup cool and add it to the lemon mixture. Strain the limoncello into bottles, discarding the lemon zest.
Keep the limoncello bottles in the freezer until ready to serve.
