1 14 oz.pkg carmels
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 package german choc.cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter
3/4 cup chopped nuts
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Melt carmels and 1/2 c. evaporated milk together. Set aside. Mix together cake mix, melted butter, nuts and 1/3 c. evaporated milk. Press half of mixture into buttered 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 for 6 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Pour carmel over chips, then top with blobs of remaining cake mixture. Bake 18 - 20 minutes.

Also submitted by Sue Reinke as " Turtle Cake" with the following changes. Omit nuts from cake mix mixture. Instead pour carmel sauce over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with 1 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup pecans. Continue as above. Serve with ice cream
