2 c. nonfat dry milk
3/4 c. cornstarch
2 T. dried onion
1 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried thyme
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/4 c. instant chicken buillon granules

Directions:

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in an airtight container for several months.

To use as replacement for a can of cream soup: combine 1/3 cup mix with 1-1/4 cups water and heat in microwave or saucepan until thickened.

To use for soup: In saucepan, combine 1/3 cup mix with 1-1/2 cups water and heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Add chicken, broccoli, corn, mushrooms, carrots or peas or a combination of any of these. Cook until vegetables are tender. For clam chowder, add potatoes and minced clams.

This recipe came from a Sue Gregg cookbook. I love to keep this mix in my pantry. It eliminates the need for keeping cans of soup on my shelf and it's fat free. I've used it in all my recipes that call for a can of cream soup and it's always tasted great.
